What is the revised time limit within which a decision regarding permission for post-retirement commercial employment must be communicated to a retired Group 'A' officer, and which statutory rules were amended?
The Government has revised the regulatory time frame within which a decision on an application for post-retirement commercial employment must be officially communicated to a retired Group 'A' officer. Under the revised guidelines, the competent authority must communicate its decision within a strict period of ninety (90) days from the date of receipt of the application. This procedural change was enacted by formally amending sub-rule (4) and the associated proviso of Rule 10 of the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1972, substituting the previous constraint of 'sixty days' with 'ninety days'.
