One Day, One Minute, One Rule – 317
According to the Department of Posts clarification letter dated 19th June, 2019, how are unfilled vacancies originally earmarked for Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) promotion to the Postman/Mail Guard cadre to be reallocated, and what specific instruction is given regarding the calculation of vacancies for the competitive examination limited to Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS)?
Reallocation of Unfilled MTS Vacancies: If the vacancies earmarked for promotion through the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) from amongst Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) cannot be filled due to the non-availability of eligible candidates, these unfilled vacancies must be added to the vacancy quota allocated for the competitive examination limited to Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS).
Calculation of Vacancies for GDS: To ensure administrative clarity and accuracy, the total vacancies available for the competitive examination limited to GDS must be computed by adding the original vacancy quota designated for GDS together with the unfilled vacancies carried over from the MTS promotion quota. Circles are explicitly instructed to compute and notify the combined vacancies accordingly to facilitate the timely conduct of the examinations.
