Initiative for expeditious redeployment of Surplus employees.
The redeployment of surplus employees is governed by the Central Civil Services (Redeployment of Surplus Staff) Rules, 1990, and the Revised Redeployment Scheme, 1989. The aim is to redeploy staff expeditiously to prevent underutilization and financial burden.
Surplus technical staff face longer waiting periods for redeployment due to fewer requisitions for technical posts, unlike non-technical staff who are redeployed more quickly.
To accelerate the redeployment of Non-Gazetted technical surplus employees, they may now be considered for redeployment against non-technical vacancies reported to the Central Surplus Cell.
When matching technical surplus staff to non-technical posts, only those possessing the requisite qualifications and/or skills for the non-technical positions are considered. This ensures fruitful and punctual redeployment.
This decision applies only to Non-Gazetted surplus staff.
Redeployment of technical surplus employees against non-technical posts will be strictly based on seniority, subject to eligibility. This measure supplements the existing process, meaning these employees will still be considered for technical posts when reported.
