Key business meet of India post office
• Annual Business Meet 2025-26: The Department of Posts convened its Annual Business Meet in New Delhi on July 15, 2025, under the leadership of the Union Minister of Communications, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia.
• During the meet, Circle Heads presented their business performance, regional initiatives, challenges, and strategies to accelerate growth. Union Minister Shri Scindia actively engaged with the delegates, discussing regional developments, hurdles, and aspirations.
• A key outcome of this meeting, echoing the Budget 2025-26 announcement, is India Post's transformation into a large public logistics organization. This initiative aims to meet the increasing needs of various sectors, including Viswakarmas, new entrepreneurs, women, self-help groups, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and large business organizations.
• India Post, with its vast network of 1.5 lakh rural post offices, complemented by the India Post Payments Bank and a network of 2.4 lakh Dak Sevaks, is envisioned to play a vital role as a catalyst for the rural economy.
• The expanded range of India Post services includes rural community hub co-location, institutional account services, DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), cash out and EMI pick-up, credit services to micro enterprises, insurance, and assisted digital services.
• The Minister commended India Post for adopting a corporate-style structure that emphasizes performance metrics, innovation, and accountability.
• A new monthly e-newsletter, Dak Samvaad, was launched to improve internal communication and knowledge sharing within the organization.
• Every employee to have a revenue target : A culture of accountability and performance will be fostered by assigning individual revenue targets across all levels.

• In July 2025, the Maharashtra Postal Circle also hosted the 'India Post: Expo Symposium' in Mumbai to boost international postal logistics and engage with the export community, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs) involved in cross-border e-commerce. This symposium aimed to facilitate dialogue and showcase India Post's global delivery services, including EMS, International Tracked Packet, and International Business Parcel.
• These events indicate India Post's strategic focus on expanding its services, strengthening its role in logistics and financial inclusion, and embracing a performance-driven approach to meet the evolving needs of its diverse clientele and contribute to national development.
• AIPEU P3 CHQ rightly recorded its protest on 26.7.2025 about Para 6 of the Business Action Plan Hand Book 2024-25 under Para 6 which stipulates that the Postal Assistants & Postmasters after working hours shall visit 5 Households, Govt institutes, Financial institute per day to market Postal services.
