Pension - Frequently Asked Questions

41. Can dependant parents of a pensioner avail CGHS benefits even if they are not financially dependent? A
No, for dependant parents to be eligible for CGHS benefits (Section IV, Chapter 1, Para 2.1), they must be financially dependent on the pensioner.

42. What is the significance of the Pension Payment Order (PPO)? 
The PPO (Section V, Chapter 2, Para 1.1) is the authority for the payment of pension and other benefits, detailing the sanctioned amount and instructions to the disbursing agency.

43. How often does a pensioner need to submit a Life Certificate? 
A pensioner needs to submit a Life Certificate once a year (Section V, Chapter 2, Para 2.1), typically in November.

44. What is "Provisional Pension" and when is it granted? 
Provisional Pension (Rule 69) is a temporary pension granted when the final pension case is delayed due to pending departmental or judicial proceedings against the Government servant.

45. What is the purpose of "Pension Adalats"? 
Pension Adalats (Section V, Chapter 4, Para 1) are forums organized to provide on-the-spot grievance redressal for pensioners regarding their pension-related issues.
