According to the Department of Posts (Training Division) guidelines issued via letter No. 1-19/2010-Trg dated 28.09.2011, what short-term administrative training arrangements must be implemented for candidates selected through the LGO departmental examination, what structural conditions apply pending their formal institutional training, and what deployment restrictions are placed on these officials?
Due to an acute shortage of PAs/SAs and the likelihood of delays in scheduling regular institutional training slots, officials promoted through the LGO departmental examination must be given a brief two-week in-house training. This course is finalized by the Heads of Circles in consultation with the Training Division / Deputy Director General (Training) and is modeled as far as possible on the Postal Training Centre (PTC) syllabus.
Pending availability of formal training slots at the PTCs, Circles are advised to issue the promotion and posting orders immediately and commence this local training. However, this short-term arrangement cannot be treated as a substitute for formal institutional induction training unless explicitly vouched for by the Training Wing or PTCs. All such officials must be deputed to PTCs as soon as regular training slots become available.
Until these officials successfully undergo formal institutional training at a PTC, they strictly cannot be detailed on sensitive seats or deputed to man the public counters. Circles are instructed to utilize their services in the back office under effective supervision, enabling already-trained PAs/SAs to be deployed to front-facing counters instead.
