31. If an employee gets a regular promotion to a post carrying a higher grade pay than what they draw under MACPS, how is their pay adjusted?
No full pay fixation (3% increment) is available; only the difference in the grade pay between the two positions is made available to the employee.

32. What happens to past promotions or ACP upgradations to grades that have now been merged into a single grade pay by the 6th CPC?
Such promotions or upgradations granted in the past to grades that now carry the same grade pay due to merger are completely ignored for the purpose of MACPS.

33. If an employee completed 25 years of service before 01.01.2006 and got two ACP upgrades to merged scales, what grade pay do they get under MACPS?
They will initially be placed in the merged Grade Pay of Rs. 4200 (PB-2). Under MACPS, they will be granted two financial upgradations to Rs. 4600 and Rs. 4800 respectively.

34. How is the revised pay fixed for employees who were granted financial upgradation under the old ACPS up to 01.01.2006?
Their revised pay will be fixed with direct reference to the pay scale granted to them under the older ACPS.

35. What are the two specific choices/options available to employees who received ACP upgradations between 01.01.2006 and 31.08.2008?
They can choose to have their pay fixed in the revised pay structure either: (a) w.e.f. 01.01.2006 based on their pre-revised scale as on 01.01.2006, or (b) w.e.f. the actual date of their ACP upgradation.
