41. Exactly when does "regular service" commence for the purpose of calculating eligibility under the MACP Scheme?

It commences from the exact date of joining a post in the direct entry grade on a regular basis, either via direct recruitment or through absorption/re-employment.

42. Does service rendered on an ad-hoc or contract basis prior to a regular appointment count toward regular service for MACPS?

No, service rendered on an ad-hoc or contract basis before a regular appointment shall not be taken into reckoning.

43. Is pre-appointment training periods counted towards qualifying service for MACPS?

No, service rendered on pre-appointment training shall not be taken into reckoning for regular service under MACPS.

44. Can past continuous regular service rendered in another Government Department carrying the same grade pay be counted for MACPS?

Yes, past continuous regular service in another Government Department in a post carrying the same grade pay prior to appointment in the new Department without a break shall be counted.

45. Does past continuous regular service in another department count towards normal/regular cadre promotions in the new department?

No, it counts exclusively towards qualifying regular service for the purpose of MACPS only, and not for regular cadre promotions.
