Administrative powers for post office establishment matters:
• The subject is a clarification regarding the Administrative Powers vested for the Opening/Upgradation/Relocation of Branch/Sub Post Offices as detailed in Para 7 of a previous Establishment Division O.M. dated February 17, 2025.
• The original administrative power under Sl. No. 7 of the table, concerning the "Opening of Branch Post Office/ Sub Post Office by relocation/ redeployment/ upgradation of Branch Post Office," was previously listed as "Full powers in accordance with Postal Dte. Letter no. 40-4/2002-Plg dated 06.01.2003".
• The Revised Powers for Sl. No. 7, as clarified in the O.M. dated 17.02.2025, were: "Full powers in accordance with Postal Directorate letter no. 40-4/2002-Plg dated 06.01.2003 in consultation with Circle IFA".
• The O.M. dated 08.09.2025 directs that the administrative powers under Sl. No. 7 have been further amended.
• The new, current Revised Powers for Sl. No. 7 are: "Full powers in accordance with Postal Directorate letter no. 40-4/2002-Plg dated 06.01.2003 in consultation with the concerned IFA".
