In a letter with order number X-3/3/2019-SPN-II dated July 1, 2022, the Department of Posts issued a clarification regarding the promotion of officials to HSG-I (NFG). The directive stated that due to ongoing litigation concerning the Non-Functional Selection Grade (NFSG) of the Inspector Posts cadre and the Non-Functional Grade (NFG) of HSG-II, a "status quo" had been imposed on promotions to HSG-I (NFG). The Department advised that all concerned Postal Circles and other units should maintain this status quo until further orders were issued.
