43. What directive did the Department of Posts issue on May 16, 2025, regarding the filling of Accounts Line posts?
In a letter dated May 16, 2025, the Department of Posts issued instructions on the filling of Accounts Line posts in the Postal/RMS wing. The directive, referencing an earlier letter from May 5, 2025, asked all Postal Circles to first complete the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) process for the vacancy year 2024 for both General Line and Accounts Line posts. Only after this step could they initiate the process for consolidating Accounts Line posts with the General Line, as per the Directorate's letter dated February 11, 2025.
The Directorate noted that some circles had already convened DPCs for the vacancy year 2025. Therefore, all Postal Circles were asked to provide an update on the status of their DPCs for the vacancy years 2024 and 2025 as soon as possible.
Finally, the Circles were also asked to provide suggestions on whether the proposed consolidation of Accounts Line posts should be implemented with effect from the vacancy year 2026 instead of 2025.
