35. What were the rules regarding the seniority of officials selected for promotion to the Lower Selection Grade (LSG) against the 1/3rd quota of vacancies?

According to letter no. 6-40/76-SPB.II dated May 25, 1976, the seniority of officials approved for promotion to the Lower Selection Grade (LSG) against the 1/3rd quota of vacancies after October 31, 1977, is to be fixed in the order of their seniority in the original gradation list of the Time Scale. For officials selected for promotion to the LSG against the same quota prior to November 1, 1977, their inter-seniority was to be fixed based on their merit position as determined by the examination.
This is to understand the provision of 1/3rd LSG and the seniority fixed in the LSG. Just to know the previous rules.
