Army Postal Service (APS)
Also called "Base circle".
Exclusive use for defence personnel.
Headquarters: Sena Dak Bhavan, New Delhi 110011.
Head of the APS: Additional DG, APS – with the status of 'Major General' in Defence.
Two Central Base Post Offices (CBPOs):
o 1 CBPO – 56 APO – Delhi 
o 2 CBPO – 99 APO – Kolkata 
The CBPOs function as Head Offices for Field Post Offices (FPOs), which number about 500.
CBPOs also function as Postal Store Depots (PSDs) and Philatelic Bureaux.
FPOs are equated to Sub Office (SO) status.
APS Training Center is located at Kamptee, Nagpur in Maharashtra Circle.
75% of APS staff are drawn from the Department of Posts, and the remaining personnel are directly recruited by the Army.

CEPT (Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology)

Located at Nazarbad, Mysore -570010.
Deals with all web and technology requirements for the Department of Posts.
Headquarters of CEPT: Mysuru.
Specific CEPT locations and their functions:
o CEPT, Chennai: CSI migration and DPMS (Delivery and Postman Management System) 
o CEPT, Hyderabad: GDS online recruitment at National level, Electronic clearance of letter boxes (Nanyatha), TTD Special Darshan ticket booking & e-shoppe 
o CEPT Bengaluru: AML (Anti Money Laundering) & FRMU (Fraud Risk Management Unit) 
o CEPT, Delhi: General Technical issues 

RAKNPA (Rafi Ahmed Kidwai National Postal Academy)
Earlier known as Postal Staff College India, renamed with effect from November 1, 2011.
Renamed in memory of the First Communication Minister.
Located in Ghaziabad in U.P. Circle.
Head of RAKNPA: Director.
Assisted by Additional Director, two Joint Directors, one Deputy Director, and two Assistant Directors with expertise in different areas.

1. PTC Guwahati (Assam), established: October 27, 2003 
2. PTC Dharbanga (Bihar), established: July 12, 1966 
3. PTC Vadodara (Gujarat), established: July 01, 1962 
4. PTC Mysore (Karnataka), established: April 20, 1965 
5. PTC Madurai (Tamilnadu), established: August 25, 1981 
6. PTC Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh), established: April 02, 1951

Mail transportation and distribution system.
RMS office located at Railway Station: RMS Sorting Office.

If in the traveling Unit of RMS (Train): Transit Mail Office.
