Strong worded instructions by DG not to harass GDS under targets

• The Director General (Posts) issued a strong Demi-Official (DO) letter dated 11.12.2023, addressed by name to all Heads of Circles, instructing them not to harass officials, particularly Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), with unrealistic targets.
• Instructions had already been issued on 22.2.2023 not to apply undue pressure on staff and GDS for meeting targets.
• The Directorate has been receiving complaints from individuals, GDS employees, and associations regarding harassment in the context of achieving targets and the initiation of disciplinary proceedings.
• We need to provide necessary support to our workforce in terms of skill development, training, and resources, etc.
• A motivated and committed workforce is a prerequisite to achieve our objectives.
• Undue harassment and disciplinary proceedings will demotivate the workforce and are not desirable.

• இயக்குநர் ஜெனரல் (அஞ்சல்) அவர்கள் 11.12.2023 தேதியிட்ட ஒரு கடுமையான அரை-அதிகாரப்பூர்வ (DO) கடிதத்தை அனைத்து வட்டங்களின் தலைவர்களுக்கும் பெயர் குறிப்பிட்டு அனுப்பினார், அதில் யதார்த்தமற்ற இலக்குகளைக் கொண்டு அதிகாரிகள், குறிப்பாக கிராமின் டாக் சேவகர்களை (GDS) துன்புறுத்த வேண்டாம் என்று அறிவுறுத்தினார்.
• இலக்குகளை அடைவதற்காக ஊழியர்கள் மற்றும் GDS மீது தேவையற்ற அழுத்தத்தை செலுத்தக்கூடாது என்று ஏற்கனவே 22.2.2023 அன்று அறிவுறுத்தல்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டிருந்தன.
• இலக்குகளை அடைவது மற்றும் ஒழுங்கு நடவடிக்கைகள் தொடங்குவது தொடர்பாக தனிநபர்கள், GDS ஊழியர்கள் மற்றும் சங்கங்களிடமிருந்து துன்புறுத்தல் குறித்த புகார்கள் வந்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றன.
• நமது பணியாளர்களுக்கு திறன் மேம்பாடு, பயிற்சி மற்றும் வளங்கள் போன்ற தேவையான ஆதரவை நாம் வழங்க வேண்டும்.
• நமது நோக்கங்களை அடைய ஊக்கமளிக்கப்பட்ட மற்றும் அர்ப்பணிப்புள்ள பணியாளர்கள் ஒரு முன்நிபந்தனை.
• தேவையற்ற துன்புறுத்தல் மற்றும் ஒழுங்கு நடவடிக்கைகள் பணியாளர்களை ஊக்கமிழக்கச் செய்யும் மற்றும் விரும்பத்தகாதது.
