Kayveeyes’ Daily Rules Recap
26. Posting of Government employees who have mentally retarded Children
• Due to the potential lack of adequate medical and educational resources for mentally retarded children in all locations, job postings should consider the parents' needs to care for their child.
• Allowing parents of mentally retarded children some choice in their job placement can significantly assist in their child's well-being.
• All departments are urged to carefully evaluate each case and accommodate posting requests whenever feasible, recognizing the unique challenges faced by parents of such children.
• This approach should also be extended to government servants with physically handicapped children who require specialized medical care due to chronic illnesses or disabilities.
Considering that facilities for medical help and education of mentally retarded children may not be available at all stations, a choice in the place of posting is likely to be of some help to the parent in taking care of such a child. All Departments are requested to take a sympathetic view on the merits of each case and accommodate to such requests for posting to the extent possible.
