The Department of Posts issued instructions requiring the mandatory uploading and absolute adherence to the newly identified list of Group 'B' and 'C' posts suitable for persons with benchmark disabilities as defined under Section 34(1) of the RPwD Act, 2016.
These specific disability categories were finalized following recommendations from a dedicated Expert Committee constituted within the Directorate, which conducted its session on 7th February, 2019, under the Chairpersonship of the DDG (Personnel). The approved framework establishes a detailed tabular structure mapping physical requirements, functional classifications (such as Sitting, Standing, Walking, etc.), and the exact nature of duties for direct recruitment quotas across all postal cadres.
