What clarification has been issued regarding the payment of regular pay and allowances versus a stipend during induction training for Postal Assistants and Sorting Assistants recruited against the 2009 and 2010 vacancies, including backlog vacancies?
The Department of Posts has clarified that all directly recruited Postal Assistants and Sorting Assistants from the years 2009 and 2010 who were allowed to join only after completing their induction training must not face pay disparities due to varying practices across different postal divisions. These officials must be treated uniformly in accordance with the detailed instructions issued in the Directorate's foundational letter dated 19/20.04.2021. Furthermore, this entitlement explicitly extends to candidates from the same 2009 and 2010 recruitment batches who were appointed against backlog vacancies originating prior to 2009; they are to be treated entirely at par with all other regular direct recruits from those examinations regarding the receipt of regular pay and allowances instead of a mere stipend for their training period.
