26. Does MACPS provide placement in the higher grade pay of the promotional hierarchy or immediate next grade pay of the rules?

It envisages merely placement in the immediate next higher grade pay in the hierarchy of the recommended revised pay bands and grade pays as given in the CCS (Revised Pay) Rules, 2008, regardless of promotional hierarchy.

27. If a regular promotion post carries a non-successive higher grade pay, when is that specific higher grade pay granted to the employee?
The higher grade pay attached to the next promotion post in the hierarchy will be given only at the time of their regular promotion, not under MACPS.

28. What is the absolute highest Grade Pay ceiling up to which financial upgradations are admissible under MACPS?
Financial upgradations under the MACP Scheme are admissible up to the highest grade pay of Rs. 12,000/- in Pay Band 4 (PB-4).

29. What percentage of pay raise is allowed as an increment at the time of financial upgradation under MACPS?

A29: The pay is raised by a standard financial increment of 3% of the total pay in the pay band and the grade pay drawn before such upgradation.

30. Is an employee entitled to a fresh round of pay fixation if they get a regular promotion in the identical grade pay already granted under MACPS?
No, there shall be no further fixation of pay at the time of regular promotion if it is in the same grade pay as granted under MACPS.
