Identified Posts for Persons with Disabilities
• The Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, has reviewed Group 'B' and 'C' posts for persons with benchmark disabilities (PwD).
• An Expert Committee was formed to review these posts, and their recommendations have been approved by the Hon'ble Minister of State for Communications.
• The following posts have been identified with specific categories of disabilities:
• Inspector of Posts & Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant:
o Low Vision (LV), Blindness (B).
o Deaf (D), Hard of Hearing (HH).
o One Arm (OA), One Leg (OL), One Arm and One Leg (OAL), Both Legs affected but not Arms, Muscular weakness and limited physical endurance (MW), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Leprosy Cured (LC), Dwarfism (Dw), Acid Attack Victim (AAV).
o Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability (ID), Specific learning disability (SLD), Mental Illness (MI).
o Multiple disabilities from the categories mentioned above.
• Postman/Mail Guard:
o Low Vision (LV).
o Deaf (D), Hard of Hearing (HH).
o One Arm (OA), One leg (OL), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Leprosy Cured (LC), Dwarfism (Dw), Acid Attack Victim (AAV).
o Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific learning disability (SLD), Mental Illness (MI).
o Multiple disabilities from the categories mentioned above.
• Multi Tasking Staff (MTS):
o Blindness (B), Low Vision (LV).
o Deaf (D), Hard of Hearing (HH).
o One Arm (OA), One Leg (OL), Both Legs (BL), One Arm and One Leg (OAL), Both Arm (BA), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Leprosy Cured (LC), Dwarfism (Dw), Acid Attack Victim (AAV), Muscular Dystrophy (MDy).
o Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific learning disability (SLD), Mental Illness (MI).
o Multiple disabilities from the categories mentioned above.
