862. The authority competent to relax the provision of office attendance at RO is the Head of the circle. (Rule 26)
863. M.S.83 is the number of daily reports. (Rule 28)
864. The daily reports are prepared by Head Sorting Assistant and it is required to submit to the Superintendent or Superintendent of sorting as the case may be through the record officer. (Rule 28)
865. The supervisor Speed post centre will send his daily report to Manager speed post by using format MS 83 (Rule 28) .
866. A daily report in form MS 83 is a document required to be submitted through the recorded officer by a Head Sorting Assistant to his Superintendent [Rule 28 Vol - VII)
867. A daily report in form MS 83 is a document required to be submitted by a Head sorting Assistant to his SRM. (R-28- Vol VII)

872. Illness of an official while on duty necessitating his leaving off work or quitting the van, or failure of an official to proceed on duty; is to be mentioned in daily report) [Rule 29 Vol - VII)
873. Misconnection of trains, the mails delayed or not received in consequence, is to be mentioned in daily report. [Rule 29 Vol - VII)
874. The following are the more important irregularities and occurrences which must be mentioned in the daily report
i All irregularities reported by telegraph/fax.
ii. Absence of carrier appointed to receive or deliver mails, the mails detained in consequence being mentioned.
iii. Receipt or dispatch of special bags; (Rule 29).
875. At all stations except changing stations the set about to proceed at the hour fixed by the Superintendent which will be at least half an hour before the departure of the train. ( Rule 35)
876. The staff of a mail office may leave the office at any period during the working hourwith the permission of HSA; with the permission of the IRM and for attending mail exchange. (Rule 35)
877. The window of the mail van of a section should be kept closed when the train is drawn up at railway station platform till the train starts. (Rule 36)
878. When an official on duty in a mail van is attacked with any serious illness, the Mail Agent / Mail Guard should communicate the fact to the Guard of the train, the Superintendent and also to the Record officer. (Rule 38)
879. Mail abstract – M-42 for transit sections and M-43 for Mail and bags. (Rule39)
880. Mail abstract of RMS is divided into 2 parts Mails and Bags. (Rule 39)
881. The mail abstract is divided into two parts, viz., Parcel bag and letter bag. [Rule 39 Vol-VII)
882. The total of forward bags on both sides should agree in the mail abstract. [Rule 39 Vol - VII)
883. The mail abstract also shows in cases due mails or forwarded bags are received or despatched short or in excess. [Rule 39 Vol - VII)
884 The transit bags (if any) addressed to the mail office or section should be opened by the head sorting Assistant himself. [Rule 39 Vol - VII)
885. The Due mail list of a section shows the stations and that of mail offices the hours at which mails are received and dispatched and also the details of the mails and in what cases they will be enclosed in transit bags. (Rule 40)
886. The cage TB addressed to the Mail office of Terminal Station is to be opened at the terminal station personally by Head sorting Assistant. (Rule 41)
887. The key of the Cage TB is to be forwarded in a sealed cover. (Rule 41)
888. The transit bags should be opened by the mail Guard or Mail agent himself. (Rule 42)
889. Parcel bags should be entered in the mail abstract and then transferred to the parcel sorting assistants; under receipt to be taken in the registered abstract. [Rule 42 Vol - VII)
890. Mail bags, branch office bags and packet bags should be opened by the Sorting Assistant. [Rule 42 Vol - VII)
891. The forward bags received by a transit or mail office will remain in the custody of the Head Assistant until it is time to despatch them. [Rule 42 Vol - VII)
892. Mail list in RMS should be prepared by HSA. (Rule44)
893. Protecting bags containing articles marked 'By parcel post” is to be included in the total unusual mails entered at the top of the mail list with suitable remarks. (Rule 44)
894. Forward mail list containing bags for one or more intervening office is to be entered in the mail list in the head 'Due mail' in the column TB. (Rule 44)
895. The mail lists should be prepared by the Head sorting assistant in duplicate. [Rule 44 Vol - VII)
896. Transit bags must always be closed and sealed in the presence of the HSA/Mailguard/Mail agent. (Rule 45)
897. Each page of the mail list should be impressed with the date stamp and signed by the sorting assistant. [Rule 46 Vol – VII)
898. The Head Sorting Assistant should write up and complete the mail abstract before arriving at the terminal station in the case of a section, and before closing work for the day in a mail office. [Rule 46 Vol - VII)
899. The Head Sorting Assistant of a sorting mail office is responsible that every insured bag received and despatched, is accurately weighed in his presence by the Parcel Sorting Assistant. [Rule 47 Vol - VII)
