One Day, One Minute, One Rule – 281
1. How is the Basic Family Pension calculated for awarding Relative Merit Points (RMP)?
Under Order No. 17-1/2022-SPG-II dated 27.09.2022, the RMP is based on the basic family pension (excluding Dearness Relief) determined on the day immediately following the official's death. Later revisions to the pension are generally not considered unless the basic pension was revised specifically from that start date due to a Pay Commission implementation or similar administrative correction.
2. Can RMP scores be changed or adjusted at a later stage of the process?
As Per Order No. 17-1/2022-SPG-II dated 27.09.2022, once RMPs are awarded based on the facts at the time of death or retirement, they remain fixed. The only exception is if a candidate submits a fresh or revised application; in that instance, only the "Age of case" parameter is updated.
