1. At what income threshold must an earning member case be referred to the Directorate? 

Following Order No. 17-1/2022-SPG-II dated 27.09.2022, cases must only be referred to the Directorate if the income of one earning member in the family is equal to or exceeds Rs. 9,000 per month. 

2. Who is eligible to be classified as a "dependent family member" under this scheme? 

Under Order No. 17-1/2022-SPG-II dated 27.09.2022, eligible dependents include the spouse, sons (including adopted and married sons who meet other scheme requirements), daughters (including adopted), and the brother or sister of an unmarried government servant. These individuals must have been wholly dependent on the servant at the time of death or medical retirement. Notably, a married brother is not considered a dependent.
