Under what specific conditions can a married daughter be considered for appointment on compassionate grounds?
A married daughter is eligible to be considered for a compassionate appointment provided she meets the following strict criteria:
• She must have been wholly dependent on the Government servant at the time of their death in harness or at the time of their retirement on medical grounds.
• She must undertake the responsibility to support other dependent members of the family of the deceased or medically retired Government servant.
• The Committee constituted for compassionate appointments must perform a relative assessment of the applicant. This includes evaluating the financial condition and "penury" of the dependent family members to ensure the appointment relieves them from financial destitution.
• She must otherwise be eligible for the appointment in terms of the consolidated guidelines issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).
