One Day, One Minute, One Rule – 227
Is joining time granted for temporary transfers or transfers made at an employee's own request?
Joining time is granted for transfers made in the public interest to enable a servant to join a new post. No joining time is admissible for temporary transfers that do not exceed 180 days; in such cases, only actual transit time is allowed. Furthermore, if a transfer is made at the employee's own request, joining time is not admissible, and the intervening period must be regularized by granting applicable leave.
(Rule 4 and OM No. 19011/33/81-Allowances. dated 29th January, 1983).
