Conditions for Drawal of House Rent Allowance
What restrictions apply to sharing accommodation or having a spouse with government housing under Order No. 2/4/2022-E.IIB dated 30.12.2022?
Under Order No. 2/4/2022-E.IIB dated 30.12.2022, a government servant is not entitled to HRA if they share government accommodation with another servant or reside in accommodation allotted to their parents, son, or daughter by a government or semi-government organization. Additionally, HRA is denied if the spouse has been allotted accommodation at the same station, regardless of whether they reside together or separately. However, if both husband and wife are government servants living in hired or owned accommodation, both are entitled to HRA as per their respective eligibility.
