One Day, One Minute, One Rule --– 40
40. What was the directive from the Department of Posts regarding the conversion of 2356 posts from Lower Selection Grade (LSG) to Higher Selection Grade-II (HSG-II)?
According to the Department of Posts' letter No. 22-1/89-PE-I (Vol.II) dated July 31, 2001, a total of 2356 LSG posts held by BCR (Biennial Cadre Review) officials were to be converted into HSG-II grade posts. The conversion was to be implemented with the same pay scale of Rs. 5000-8000/-. This was decided to ensure there were no additional financial implications for the department. The order also specified that this conversion was to take effect from the date the LSG posts were upgraded to HSG-I. The posts to be converted were to be identified on a functional basis using specific guidelines for Post Offices, SBCO, Circle offices, and RMS. These new HSG-II posts would be "norm-based" and distinct from the posts held by BCR officials.
