190. Daily Rules Recap - Whether prior permission is required for GDS to pursue further studies?
• Previously, there were no specific rulings or instructions regarding the permission required for Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) to pursue further studies. Consequently, different circles were following varied practices when allowing GDS to undertake additional education.
• It is now clarified that there should be no objection if a GDS desires to pursue further studies beyond their duty or office hours, provided that the work of the office is not hampered.
• Therefore, no specific permission is required to be obtained by GDS for pursuing studies outside of their duty or office hours.
• GDS may also be allowed leave, as per existing rules, to appear for examinations related to such courses.
