85. Who is eligible for child care leave ??

Eligibility:
• Available to female Central Government employees.
• Also available to single male parents, including unmarried, widower, or divorcee employees.
Purpose:
• Can be availed for taking care of a child up to 18 years of age (including in cases of illness, education, or other necessities).
• If the child is disabled (with at least 40% disability), there is no age restriction for availing CCL.
Duration & Salary:
• Maximum 730 days (i.e., two years) during the entire service.
• First 365 days – Paid at 100% of leave salary.
• Next 365 days – Paid at 80% of leave salary.
Number of Spells Allowed in a Calendar Year:
• For single female Government employees – Up to 6 spells per year.
• For other eligible employees – Up to 3 spells per year.
• Leave Sanctioning Authorities may allow up to 3 additional spells beyond the regular limit.
