What are the requirements regarding departmental training for promotion of Higher Selection Grade-II (HSG-II) officials to HSG-I (Post Offices) as per the recruitment rules and circular?
HSG-II officials working in Post Offices with five years of regular service in Pay Band-II (Rs. 9300-34800) plus Grade Pay Rs. 4200/-, who have successfully completed a two-week departmental training relating to duties and responsibilities, are eligible for promotion to the HSG-I (PO) cadre.
If an officer in the field of consideration has not undergone the training prior to promotion due to administrative reasons, they remain eligible for promotion on the condition that they successfully complete the training within one year of promotion.
Authorities were requested to immediately forward lists of untrained HSG-I (P) officials and eligible HSG-II (P) officials (including HSG-II Accountants) completing five years of service as of 01.01.2026.
