Rules, Rights & Rites -121
I usually post all important items related to official rulings, union news, and other general matters on my YouTube channels: Yourskayveeyes (English) and Anbudan Kayveeyes (Tamil).
However, due to the recent spate of orders and the high volume of information being received, I have not been able to convert every item into a video. Therefore, I am introducing these new slots to post current matters and updates that have not yet been published on YouTube. This ensures you stay informed on every detail, even if a video hasn't been made yet …………….Kayveeyes
24 Speed Post Parcel (24 SPP) service& Revised tariff
• The 24 Speed Post Parcel (24 SPP) service, launched on March 17, 2026, experienced a severe drop in volume compared to its pilot phase because customers found the pricing extremely high compared to market competitors like Shiprocket and Amazon.
• Following a ministerial review, a revised tariff structure was approved for an initial pilot period of 3+3 months to offer competitive pricing and recover delivery volumes.
• The newly approved, revised rates for 24 SPP became operational on May 22, 2026.
• The revised rates apply exclusively to bulk/contractual customers under a new system category called "24 Speed Post Parcel Special," while retail customer rates remain unchanged. Regular 24 SPP booking for bulk customers has been discontinued.
• Because only 6 metro-to-metro lanes are currently operational, only the "Local" and "Zone Metro" pricing slabs from the new matrix are active.
• Bulk/contractual customers receive a flat 17% discount on the complete tariff matrix (including Metro and other distance slabs) during monthly billing, except for the "Local" distance slab, which is charged at the full rate.
• CoD charges for bulk/contractual customers during this pilot period are set at a flat rate of ₹7 per article.
• A presentation was organized on May 21, 2026, for the six metro circles to train Single Points of Contact (SPOCs) on various bulk booking methods, including walk-ins, Excel uploads, self-service portals, SFTP, and API integrations.
• Circle SPOCs, marketing executives, and network personnel are instructed to widely disseminate these competitive new rates to accelerate bulk customer acquisition and ensure smooth implementation across booking pin codes and mail offices.
