The Department of Posts, circulating an explicit directive from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), has clarified that certificates and qualifications issued by various State Madarsa Education Boards stand officially recognized for the purpose of eligibility and employment into civil posts under the Central Government. These qualifications are mapped directly to standard school education levels as per an approved scheduled list.
Specifically, the equivalence for the Bihar and West Bengal boards is established as follows:
• Bihar State Madarsa Education Board, Patna:
o Wastania is recognized as equivalent to Class VIII.
o Fauquania is recognized as equivalent to Class X (Matriculation).
o Maulvi is recognized as equivalent to Class XII (Higher Secondary).
• West Bengal Board of Madarsa Education, Kolkata:
o High Madrasa and Alim are recognized as equivalent to Class X (Matriculation).
o Fazil is recognized as equivalent to Class XII (Higher Secondary).
