The Expert Committee detailed specific exclusions for field cadres based on the arduous nature of their field assignments:
• Postman / Mail Guard: Because the work performed by a Postman or Mail Guard involves arduous physical field requirements—including intensive daily travelling for the delivery of Dak and the handling of cash—the Committee ruled that individuals with Blindness, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, autism, intellectual disability, and mental illness may not be found suitable for these posts. Permissible categories include One Leg (OL), Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims, and specific learning disabilities.
• Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Since an MTS is required to perform multiple diverse tasks across post offices and administrative offices—including the lifting and handling of heavy postal weights—the Committee explicitly noted that Blindness, Deafness, muscular dystrophy, autism, intellectual disability, and mental illness may not be found suitable for the post. Acceptable categories for MTS include Low Vision (LV), Hard of Hearing (HH), One Arm (OA), One Leg (OL), and One Arm and One Leg (OAOL).
