Outlines the launch details for two new services: 24 SPEED POST and 48 SPEED POST.
• The timeline for the product launch was finalized during a Core Group discussion on December 19, 2025, with the launch date fixed for January 5, 2026.
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is successfully complete, and the products are ready for live environment testing.
• Identified Post Offices are instructed to begin booking these new articles starting January 7, 2026.
• The rollout involves the Chief Postmasters General of Delhi, West Bengal, Telangana, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
• Circles must ensure Post Offices have necessary packaging materials and counter infrastructure, such as thermal printers.
• For articles destined for the six metro cities (including Town Delivery), offices must book them as 24 SPEED POST if submitted before the cut-off time, and as 48 SPEED POST if submitted after the cut-off.
• This tech-enabled pilot is being monitored at the highest level, with weekly progress reviews conducted by the Honorable Minister of Communications (MoC).
• Circle nodal officers (PMG/DPS) are responsible for ensuring strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) at all handling stages.
• CEPT will provide access to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) via an MIS dashboard starting January 8, 2026, for use by Circles, Regions, Divisions, and the Mail Division
