According to the Department of Posts notification dated 26.03.2019, what specific relaxation has been granted to existing Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) regarding the minimum educational qualifications required to appear for the competitive examination for appointment to the Postman and Mail Guard cadres?
Relaxation on Educational Qualification: The competent authority has relaxed the minimum educational qualification specified in the newly notified Recruitment Rules of 2018 for all existing Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS).
This relaxation is applicable to those GDS who were officially engaged prior to the date of notification of the new Postman and Mail Guard Recruitment Rules (i.e., prior to 20.09.2018).
For these existing GDS officials, the required minimum educational qualification to appear for the examination to the Postman and Mail Guard cadres shall be a pass in the 10th standard (Matriculation) from a recognized Board, instead of the newly prescribed 12th standard pass criteria.
