Postal Department Commercialization & Focus on Revenue Generation::
• Communication Minister gave an interview to the English newspapers on 6.7.2025 in which he mentioned the following which are very important
• The Department of Posts is considering commercially developing its prime real estate. It aims to turn various departments and assets into profit centres. This is part of a plan to revamp and reposition the entire postal network. The goal is to turn the 1.6 lakh post offices into profit centres.
• Communication Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated that assets, whether telecom or postal, must be leveraged for revenue. The idea is to lease out space by developing buildings on post office land.
• Due diligence on property titles and mutation details is underway to identify potential properties for development. Six new verticals have been established, and new revenue streams are being identified.
