Providing cashless health facilities in place of the Fixed Medical Allowance (FMA).
I usually post all important items related to official rulings, union news, and other general matters on my YouTube channels: Yourskayveeyes (English) and Anbudan Kayveeyes (Tamil).
However, due to the recent spate of orders and the high volume of information being received, I have not been able to convert every item into a video. Therefore, I am introducing these new slots to post current matters and updates that have not yet been published on YouTube. This ensures you stay informed on every detail, even if a video hasn't been made yet …………….Kayveeyes
Providing cashless health facilities in place of the Fixed Medical Allowance (FMA).
• It refers to a letter from Shri R. Krishnamoorthy dated June 2, 2025, on the same subject.
• The letter clarifies the current options available to pensioners residing in non-CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme) covered areas:
• Option 1: They can continue to receive the Fixed Medical Allowance (FMA) for Out-Patient Department (OPD) facilities.
• Option 2: They can register themselves at a nearby Wellness Centre and avail CGHS facilities for both OPD and In-Patient Department (IPD) services.
• Option 3: They can choose to receive the FMA for OPD treatment and use CGHS for IPD treatment after paying the required subscription.
• The letter states that the proposal to replace FMA with a cashless health insurance scheme would require significant policy changes, additional budgetary allocation, and inter-ministerial consultations.
• The request to provide cashless health insurance facilities in lieu of FMA cannot be accepted.
