Do competitive examination candidates from Government service get joining time?
Central Government employees (and permanent or provisionally permanent State Government employees) appointed to Central Government posts based on competitive exams or interviews are entitled to joining time. This entitlement applies if the servant opts to have their past service in the Central or State Government counted for all purposes within the Central Government.
