Why did the Directorate request views from all Chief Postmasters General (CPMGs) regarding the suspension or delinking of post-attached quarters?
In letter No. BDG-20/8/2021-Building-DOP dated 16.11.2021, the Directorate noted that while departmental instructions dated 13/14.12.2001 make it mandatory for incumbents to occupy post-attached quarters, many of these quarters are currently lying vacant due to a lack of demand. Following representations from Unions to delink or suspend these quarters—specifically those earmarked for Postmasters and Group 'B' Officers—to prevent the loss of House Rent Allowance (HRA) to incumbents, all CPMGs were directed to furnish their views on the matter by 30.11.2021 so a final decision could be reached.
