What are the conditions and restrictions regarding the drawal of HRA under Order No. 2/4/2022-E.IIB dated 30.12.2022?
According to Order No. 2/4/2022-E.IIB dated 30.12.2022, HRA is not admissible to employees who occupy General Pool Residential accommodation or live in government-run hostels, such as the Working Girls' Hostel in Delhi. If an employee accepts government accommodation, HRA stops from the date of handing over; if they refuse an allotment, HRA ceases from the date of allotment. Conversely, if an employee surrenders government accommodation, HRA becomes payable from the date of surrender, and those debarred from allotment due to unauthorized sub-letting remain eligible for HRA during the debarment period.
