For which children can a Government servant claim CEA, and what is the specific educational range covered by this allowance?
A Government servant is entitled to claim Children Education Allowance (CEA) or Hostel Subsidy for only the two eldest surviving children. This allowance is admissible for children studying from three classes before class one up to the 12th standard. These specific eligibility criteria are maintained under OM No. A-27012/01/2017-Estt.(AL) dated 17.07.2018.
