Which category of staff is eligible for Over Time Allowance, and what is the requirement for monitoring their attendance?
Only "Operational Staff" are eligible for OTA, which includes non-ministerial, non-gazetted Central Government servants directly involved in the smooth operation of the office or the operation of electrical/mechanical equipment. Ministries must prepare a list of such staff with justification and approval from the JS(Admn.) and Financial Adviser. Furthermore, the grant of OTA may be linked to biometric attendance. These instructions are based on OM No. A-27016/03/2017-Estt. (AL) dated 19/6/2018.
