According to the Ministry of Communications & IT, Department of Posts (Estates Division) Order No. 10-4/2013-Bldg. dated 08.10.2015, which adopts the Directorate of Estates Office Memorandum dated 22.04.2015, the Special Licence Fee has been revised based on the living area of the accommodation. For Type IV quarters with a living area between 59 to 75 square meters, the monthly flat rate of licence fee is set at Rs. 500, resulting in a Special Licence Fee of Rs. 6,000 per month. For Type VA (D-II) quarters with a living area up to 106 square meters, the monthly flat rate is Rs. 875, leading to a Special Licence Fee of Rs. 10,500 per month. These rates are calculated by multiplying the monthly flat rate by a specific factor (e.g., a factor of 12 for Type IV/V) to ensure the recovery of costs under Fundamental Rule 45-B for General Pool and Postal Pool quarters
