Retaining General Pool accommodation for allottees retiring on or after 23.04.2013
What is the permissible period for retaining General Pool accommodation for allottees retiring on or after 23.04.2013, and how is the licence fee handled during this time?
According to the Ministry of Urban Development, Directorate of Estates Office Memorandum No. 12035/28/96-Pol.II(Vol.II) dated 31st July 2013, allottees who were assigned accommodation prior to 01.07.2013 may retain it for up to 8 months with progressively increasing licence fees (2 months each at normal, double, four times, and six times the normal fee), while those allotted on or after 01.07.2013 are permitted 6 months of retention (2 months each at normal, double, and four times the normal fee). This retention period is granted automatically without a formal request, and retiring employees must request their Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to deduct the applicable fees from their last pay bill or deposit them with the Directorate of Estates within one month of retirement
