Revision of Fixed Monetary Compensation (FMC)
157. What are the revised rates for Fixed Monetary Compensation (FMC) for delivery staff as per the 2015 directives, and what are the specific order details governing this change?
According to the order issued by the Ministry of Communication & IT, Department of Posts, under No. 10-7/2001-PE-II dated 14th August, 2015, the competent authority approved an upward revision of the Fixed Monetary Compensation (FMC) for Postmen staff. This decision followed a review by a Committee of Senior Officers in response to requests from staff Associations.
The revised rates for the performance of absentee duties are as follows:
• One Postman performing duty of an absentee: Increased from ₹50 per day to ₹94 per day.
• Two Postmen sharing the beat of an absentee: Increased from ₹24 per day to ₹47 per day.
Additionally, the order revised the compensation for duty performed on Holidays or Sundays. Postmen and Sorting Postmen now receive ₹282 per day for full-day duty, while other staff members like MTS, Postal Assistants, and Supervisors receive hourly remuneration ranging from ₹29 to ₹47 per hour, subject to a maximum of 3 hours. These changes took effect from the date of the order's issue.
