13. According to the order No. 47-1/2003-SPB-I dated 30.06.2009, what is the clarification regarding the eligibility of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) who were on deputation for recruitment to the Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant cadre?
The order clarifies that for Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) on deputation, the period of their deputation to a departmental post should be treated as "duty" for the purpose of computing the requisite service for appearing in the recruitment examination for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant. This applies as long as their lien on the GDS post is maintained. The GDS on deputation will also continue to be governed by the rules and instructions applicable to GDS regarding their eligibility to appear in the departmental examination
