33. Whether an official who completed tenure and posted to another station as per his choice is entitled for joining time?
As per DG (P) No 17-3/94-PAP dated 18.12.95, it is permissible. In fact no joining time is admissible for transfers at own request. But in cases of transfers at request after completion of full tenure, the joining time is entitled.
34. What is the entitlement of joining time in respect of transfer within the same station and does not involve a change of residence?
One day’s JT is admissible only in cases where a person is transferred to join a new post within the same station or which does not involve a change of residence from one station to another. JT is not admissible if the person is deputed on tour in a leave vacancy, or in the case of a temporary transfer. Actual time taken in journey only is allowed and the period of journey in these cases will be covered by the TA as admissible, and is treated as duty.
35. Whether Night Halt Allowance is applicable to Mail overseers now?
No. The Mail overseers are now brought under TA/DA for their journeys with effect from 17.01.2012 vide DG (P) No. 1-02/2012-PAP dated 17.01.2012.
