Treasury Allowance
56.
Whether Security/Fidelity bond is compulsory for drawal of treasury allowance?
Yes.
Special pay will be released only after the cashier/Treasurer has furnished security/fidelity
bond.

NB: There
is no change in the instructions issued earlier.
57. Whether
the cash handling allowance will be paid to all the treasurers and Assistant
treasurers of the post offices?
No. It is restricted
to only one official working in one post office. The injustice has not been
resorted yet.
Cycle Maintenance Allowance
58. Whether
the distance criteria prescribed by nodal ministry is applicable in case of
Postman for grant of Cycle maintenance Allowance?
No. The same has been relaxed and now the
Postmen who are utilizing cycles for delivery of mails shall be granted cycle
maintenance allowance without any distance criteria. This was given effect from
17.01.2012.

59. If the
official is on leave for whole month, whether this allowance will be paid or
not?
Allowance is not admissible for the calendar
month wholly covered by leave or training. It is also like eligibility for
drawal of transport allowance.

60. Whether
any increase in the cycle Maintenance allowance in the case of increase of DA
to 50%?
The allowance is fixed as Rs. 180 per month. There is no mention about the increase in the allowance.
