Rationalization of Central Processing Centres (CPCs)
• A new "IMS Software" is being developed by CEPT for launch in September 2026, which will allow customers to fill proposal forms online and perform e-KYC for non-medical policies.
• The automation and digitization will eliminate manual data entry at CPCs and allow for direct maturity payment credits to verified bank accounts, thereby reducing overall workload.
• Because of the reduced workload, CPCs will be rationalized and merged to save operational costs.
• Concerns about customers having to travel to distant merged CPCs are addressed by the new software’s self-service portal, which allows for remote request indexing and document uploads.
• Circles must examine infrastructure, manpower arrangements, and accommodation for records before proposing mergers.
• Circles are required to provide data on working strength and justifications for proposed mergers/demergers by February 16, 2026
