Merger of Parcel Directorate and Business Development (BD) Directorate to rationalize and ensure more effective management of various initiatives, particularly in Parcel and Citizen Centric Services.
• A need was felt for rationalization and merger of the Parcel Directorate and Business Development (BD) Directorate to ensure effective management of Parcel and Citizen Centric Services initiatives, and to utilize available posts, manpower, and resources better.
• The Parcel Directorate and the Business Development Directorate have been merged.
• The new single entity is named the Parcel and Citizen Centric Services Directorate (Parcel & CCS Directorate).
• The order is issued with immediate effect.
• The new Parcel & CCS Directorate will discharge all functions and responsibilities previously assigned to both the Parcel Directorate and the Business Development Directorate.
The structure of the new Directorate includes the following changes and roles:
• The Directorate shall be headed by a Chief General Manager in the HAG rank of Indian Postal Service, Group 'A'.
• The existing post of Chief General Manager (Parcel) is re-designated as Chief General Manager (Parcel & Citizen Centric Services).
• The General Manager (Citizen Centric Services & Rural Business) (formerly General Manager (Business Development)) will report to the Chief General Manager (Parcel & Citizen Centric Services) for all assigned duties except Rural Business.
• For Rural Business, the General Manager (Citizen Centric Services & Rural Business) will report directly to the Member (Operations).
• The work relating to the Rural Business Branch is assigned to the Additional General Manager (BD), and this post is re-designated as Additional General Manager (Citizen Centric Services & Rural Business).
• There is no change in the designations of General Manager (Parcel) and Additional General Manager (Parcel).
• Designations of other posts in the Citizen Centric Services (CCS) Unit may be changed by replacing 'Business Development' with 'Citizen Centric Services'.
• Rationalize the available posts/manpower of the new Directorate and inform the Establishment/Personnel Divisions of any spare posts/manpower.
