One Day, One Minute, One Rule – 306
What are the revised senior-junior crossover rules and conditions for appearing in the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) for Postal and Sorting Assistants as per the 2022 Recruitment Rules?
Under the Department of Posts 2022 Recruitment Rules, senior officials are allowed exam eligibility parity with their juniors subject to the following rules:
If a junior official becomes eligible to write the LDCE, their senior is automatically made eligible as well.
The senior official must not be short of the required qualifying service by more than half of such service or two years, whichever is less, and must have completed their probation period.
Both the senior and junior must have been recruited through the same mode of recruitment and must have held the same feeder cadre.
This crossover benefit cannot be claimed by a senior if the junior gained accelerated exam eligibility due to a drop in seniority following a voluntary inter-circle transfer under Rule-38.
